Music

I don't have the coolest music taste, as many of my friends will be more than happy to tell you and make fun of me about; however, despite that I thought that It would be fun to share some of my favourite songs. Here are some songs that I have been loving at the moment.

While I am a huge fan of pop music, I also love more old school stuff and what I only know how to call 'chill out' music. So I'm not really sure what category to put my taste into but it is what it is haha.

University.

So at the end of last year i finished high school. This was a pretty scary time for me. For as long as i can remember i have been a student, granted as I'm now attending uni I'm still a student; however, not in the same way, and the thought of having to decide what i wanted to do with my life terrified me.

In Australia, school starts at the beginning of the year and finishes at the end of the year, which I know is not the case in other places around the world (one of the many reasons that America for one confuses me).  This meant at the start of 2015 I was on my own.  Faced with the opportunity to go into full time work or continue working part time and study further, I chose the latter.

All of year 12 (Australians last year of high school) I worked my butt off to get an ATAR (end of year score) that would get me into uni. The only problem was I didn't really know what I wanted to do. To be completely honest I'm still not 100% if I've made the right choice and if this is truly what I want to do and eventually become.  By the end of the year I thought to myself what are the subject that i most enjoy? To this my answer was Legal Studies and Psychology. Logically then I found a university course that had both of these at its core. That is what I'm currently studying.

While university is both exactly how I though it would be and completely different at the same time I think that it has defiantly helped me to become a better person. Only one semester in and I feel that I have become more independent, I feel that i have gained a new way of thinking on particular topics and all around I feel better for being at uni (this is not to say some days I days that I don't hate it, because i do).

I suppose my point is, if you're thinking about uni and you're not really sure what you want to do but you think you want to try it, go for it! You have nothing to loose. Plus, if you don't like it a few weeks in you can drop out without any cost (something no one ever told me) so why not.

Uni isn't for everyone, and anyone thats ever gone to uni will tell you that. It is a scary unfamiliar place when you first go there, but you learn so much from the experience.

Overall, being half way though 1st year my thoughts and opinions may change. As the upcoming exams draw closer I may have an overwhelming hate for it all over again, but I'm still glad that i made the decision to go.

The end of school is a scary and exciting time. At the end of the day you have to do whats best for yourself, not anyone else. Because when it comes down to it, this is your life and no one else has to live it but you.

- M I L E Y -

So the other day I went to the Miley Cyrus Concert and It was one of the best concerts that i have ever been too! Such a great show, so so many things to look at! Every song was full of dancers and characters with crazy props like a driving car, a huge blow up dog and so many more.

My friends and I dressed up for the occasion with shirts, fun hair, face panting that they had before you walked in that we put on our arms on account of school the next day and some dots on our face with glitter glue (that we may or may not have 'borrowed' from the art room) which looked so cool because in the light in charged colour because of the glitter in it.

Personally, I think that if you are going to go all out for a concert Miley is the one, you just know its going to get crazy!

Her performance overall was incredible, the songs all sounded amazing live and it was such a great show! We didnt have the best seats but that didnt matter at all! Here are some pictures I took on the night :)

Let me know if you went and what you thought :) Xxx

Enjoying The Little Things

Recently, I have been feeling quite stressed. It is times like these when I like to step back for a minute and enjoy some of the little things that make all the stress worth while and take my mind off them for a little while.

One of these things is taking the day off to go to the beach with your friends. Whether it be going for a swim, maybe some surfing or just standing on the jetty watching the waves roll in. The beach is always a place for relaxing and a bit of fun!

Animals! Spending time with your pets, maybe taking them for a walk or just playing in the backyard is one of those little things that i love doing. And if you don't have a pet, you tube cute puppies or man reunited with lion, trust me you won't be disappointing.

Parties! I think everyone loves a good party and for good reason. Its such a nice way to let your hair down and have fun with your friends!

Back to beaches, sunsets and sunrises at the beach or anywhere are always so calming and beautiful. Taking the time to get up and watch the sunrise or go down after dinner and watch it set is always worth it!

Music. Music is such an amazing way to transform any mood you are in. It dosn't have to be going to see live music, or a music festival, blasting music in you car with friends or listening to it yourself in your bedroom, they are all just as great.

Road Trips with your friends, even if you don't know where you are going! I recently went on a small road trip with my friends and we ended up in a fairy garden

Getting back to nature! Bush walking, visiting lookouts, waterfalls and scenic drives are some of my favourite activities

Fires. And i dont mean burning your house down. But sitting there watching the fire burn, there is something so amazing about it.

Random Fun Friend Days. Whether that involve drawing all over your windows, dying your hair blue and pink or just chilling watching movies or a pool day they are always so much fun

School. I dont mean all the lessons and home work. But lunch and recess and those moments in class when you cant stop laughing are all some understated best moments.

Holidays. I dont think i need to say any more really.

And finally Culture. Going to Chinese gardens, the state library, the museum or just appreciating beautiful things in general and some of the things i love.

Those a few of my favourite things that help me relax. Let me know what you like to do with your friends or alone that you love

Big Red Bus

Visiting Sydney any time soon?

I have recently took a trip all the way to Sydney and stumbled on a tourist dream. Being a visitor in the city without a car my family and I found ourselves walking around everywhere. However we also stumbled upon a tour bus that took us everywhere we wanted to go! Being in love with everything London the double Decker open top red bus was a dream!

This bus was so convenient picking us right around the corner from our hotel and took us everywhere that we wanted to go. You bought a ticket on the bus that lasted 24 hours or 48 depending on your ticket choice, and it took you on a guided tour all around the town.

Known as the Sydney Explorer the hop on hop off bus stops at 34 places including: The Opera House, The Rocks, Kings Cross, Darling Harbor, Bondi Beach and obviously the Bridge. Tickets range from $40 for an adult at $25 for a child (for a 24 hour pass) and is well worth the money. Also when you got a ticket you had the option of buying tickets then are there for other popular attraction such as the aquarium (which we took full advantage of) at discounted prices.

When you go onto the bus you were provided with a pair of earphones and you had a choice of sitting inside the bus or out on the open top. You could then plug your earphones in if you wanted to listen to the running commentary, which also had a number of optional languages and a kids option which is a great option if you wanted to just enjoy the view!

It was also a hop on hop off bus. You could get off at one of the tourist attractions, get lunch or maybe a Starbucks and then get on the next bus. The bus goes all around the city but also circles up into the outer suburbs of Sydney to give amazing views all over the city.

The bus also goes down by the harbor so you can see the bridge, opera house  and all around the city. There is also a bus that you can get on that takes you down for a tour of Bondi Beach.

Overall the bus was such a great experience! We were also able to get tickets to the popular attractions such as The Aquarium . Defiantly worth a check out if you are looking for a fun way to get around town.

Swisspers Natural ‘ALOE Everything Balm’

I don’t know about you, but my eyebrows will never cooperate with me, and I always find myself struggling to make them look good and I am always on the hunt for good eyebrow products. In my desperation I tried something that I normally would never go for.

The Swisspers Natural ‘ALOE Everything Balm’ describes itself as “An all-purpose balm with healing and skin conditioning properties” and I know what you are thinking, why would you use a balm on your eyebrows?! However, on the front of the container specifically states that it can be used to “Sculpt eyebrows” which I though was a strange yet interesting concept.

The product itself is a green balm (it doesn’t leave a green tint though don’t worry about that) and I find that It works best when I lights just tap my finger in it, swipe it over my brows and then use a brow comb to shape them the way I want them to be. I find that doing this keeps my brows in place all day.
It is also a multipurpose balm and works great as a lip balm and on sunburn. However, as it is a balm if you apply to much it can have a tendency to make your eyebrows look almost greasy but most of the time this is not a problem.

I have also found since using this product on my eyebrows that my eyebrows are growing quicker and I find they are looking fuller than normal which is a plus!

I think that as a whole this is such great value for money. Even compared to something like ELF wet look lash and brow gel mascara which here in Australia retails for $3,and is about the cheapest thing in store for eyebrows this still blows that out of the water. This product retails for around $7.95 but is 50ml and with the amount you use in the long run costs you next to nothing compered.

So, if you are in the market for a cheap eyebrow product or are looking to help grow your eyebrows a bit, give this a go I don’t think that you will be disappointed.

Rimmel - Match Perfection Foundation

The Rimmel London ‘Match Perfect Light Perfecting Radiance Foundation’ (the foundation with the unnecessarily long name) is my all-time favourite foundation and one that I have continued to repurchase, and also turned a lot of my friends onto loving.

This foundation comes in a wide range of colours (I use 200 soft beige) and is perfect for everyday wear. I would describe this as medium but buildable coverage and very easy to blend.  I apply this foundation with the Real Techniques by Samantha Chapman ‘Expert Face Brush’ (a brush which deserves a review of its own) and I find that this gives me the best result. However, I have also been known to apply this with just my hands and that works well also.

This foundation leaves you with a dewy finish and looks great with or without a finishing powder. I have always been one to worry about my foundation looking to orange but since wearing this foundation and asking friends I have never once gotten a yes to the question “Do I look orange?”  In fact when asking one of my friends (who is a boy, so I knew he was going to be honest if it was) I got the response “no, you never look orange” which just added to the list of reasons why I love this product.

I also am still in high school, which means I’m not technically allowed to wear makeup, and this foundation has passed the test with all my teachers. However, to be fair they will very rarely pick someone up on their makeup. Maybe only if you wore eye shadow or lipstick, but never the less this is totally wearable to school and I think is able to look super natural. But as I said before can be buildable so when I wear it to parties I usually use two pumps instead of one and a little bit.

That is another great point about this foundation is that it comes with a pump. Fun story, when I bought my first bottle of this the lid was stuck to the pump and I just twisted it and poured some out onto my hand, which constantly thinking this would be so much easier with a pump, later to discover that if I tried to pull up instead of twist I would have taken the lid off and seen the pump anyway (Good one right?).
One thing that I have found able this foundation is that it is moisturising, however if you have particularly dry skin it works best with another moisturiser under neither. However I would describe my skin as ‘normal’ and I use it without a moisturiser or a primer and I still love the results.

Overall, I love this foundation and will continue to have it as a staple in my makeup bag. It is super affordable retailing at around $17.95 depending on where you buy it from (I usually buy mine from K-mart or Priceline) and is just an all-around great product that I would recommend everyone have a try.
